Space Station Leonis has been given a very complimentary mention in this post by Josh Fouts, writing for the Spotlight blog of Digital media and Learning 🙂
Members from the development team of Space Station Leonis will be present at next month’s National Education conference, on the 14th of August at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
we will be having a booth, as well as conducting a sharing session.
if you are planning to attend this year’s International Conference on Computers in Education at Hiroshima, in November, we will be presenting some of the findings from the pre- and post-tests from the piloting of the game 🙂
today, the Learning Sciences Lab at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, had a very distinguished visitor.
he was none other than our Minister for Defence – Teo Chee Hean. we are privileged that he chose to spend some time being briefed on the progress we are making in Space Station Leonis 🙂 he also served as Minister for Education between 1997 and 2003, overseeing the launch, rollout and implementation of the philosophy of ‘Thinking Schools, Learning Nation’.
thank you, for your time and words of encouragement, Minister Teo!
Last week was the last game that we played. Tomorrow is a survey about the game. I really love the game because it is interesting and I can learn something about Social Studies with more understanding. Especially, the part that I was a President and I realise that if I had planned properly, I would have gone up to level 8….Well, it would be bored if we did not have any games anymore. Whatever it is, I just wanna thanks to Mr. Ken for willing letting my class to try out your game.. I really appreciate it. Thanks a lot & Goodbye Leonis!!!
a very warm welcome to visitors from the Consortium for School Networking’s 6th Annual International Symposium on ‘Using Games and Simulations for Engaged Learning’!
you’ve come to the right place if you attended Session 1 on ‘Innovative Examples’ and heard the presentation by Associate Professor Yam San Chee on the citizenship education videogame Space Station Leonis.
please feel free to browse around and learn more about the learning system that we (at the National Institute of Education’s Learning Sciences Lab) are designing 🙂
this year’s symposium in San Francisco represents the international debut of Leonis, so we’re especially proud and happy to welcome you here 🙂
do enjoy your stay!
